Ich Liebe Dies Sprach!!!

So we had our first fast Sunday (6TH) ! I had been struggling, I thought "I'm not gonna get fat! I'll work out SUPER hard and burn the fat right?" No, I ended up over exerting my arms and was so sore I couldn't touch my face for 4 days haha. Oh boy... I realized (because it hurt to fold my arms) that I had never prayed so much in my life! I truly feel that I have come closer to Christ by learning how to bring the Spirit to the room and help it to teach of the Gospel of our Savior. I was able to bless the sacrament in German, goodness Ich Liebe Dies Sprach!!! It's leaking into my journal haha our investigator from last week was named Charles. I cant remember if I spoke about him, but we started teaching him in German the second day, we invited him this last Friday morning to be baptized and set a date for a month out, he came to our class that night and explained that he's actually our new teacher haha so that was a trip. Our two new investigators are Brother Charchighidim and Frederic. We will meet them on Monday.

7th Monday was a wonderful day, we planted a Buch Mormon with Charles, we were so ecstatic and after walking out of the lesson My Companion let me know I had given away his personal copy and not my own!!! He committed to praying and reading and read 5 chapters the first night. I cant wait for him to understand and step closer unto Christ!!!

8th Tuesday We had a service project at 6:40 am, so we had to wake up an hour earlier, we cleaned one of the buildings and it was a lot of fun! We taught Charles about prophets and the restoration. We confused him because we didn't know the right vocab, so we worked hard the next day to UN-Confuse him.

9th Wednesday we taught Charles more about Jesus Christ. The Atonement definitely rung with him, after explaining Christ's Suehnopfer (Atonement) he was very quiet and then our time was up. I felt the Spirit so I know that is was a good quiet, because he was thinking about what that meant to him. We sing every morning to get the Spirit, although ya'll would probably think German wouldn't do that haha. We met an investigator from Germany that day, his name is Johnathan, he is working here while he studies Linguistics at BYU. He feels God does not answer his prayers. Jonathan is very sweet and I'd love to show him Christ and His Heavenly Father DO love him, he just needs to open up more and learn to hear the Spirit of God. As members we have this great gift, a pot of gold, (the keys to eternal happiness) and it is so difficult when we go up to someone we care about, grab an ingot of gold and try to hand it to them and they won't reach out to accept the gift.

10th Thursday we spoke about the gifts of the Spirit. I recognized that the gift of tongues works with my gift of understanding and discernment. I understand much more German than I can formulate and it helped me so much while I listened to Jonathan's life story. I have developed a great love for the scriptures and read close to 10 chapters a day! I'm working through a brand new copy of the Book of Mormon, marking spiritual lessons and writing any inspired thoughts. Oh, a note in my journal (I'm reading it as I write this so I don't forget anything) is that "the food here destroys the bowels". Also the backwards people of Utah believe in "Daylight savings time"... apparently this Sunday we get one less hour of sleep...

11th ðŸŽµFriday was yesterday, it's the day we get ready for P! DAY! ðŸŽµ Don't tell my mission leader but I may have fallen asleep during scripture study on Friday haha. I sit next to the vent, so if I lean back it blows on the back of my neck...  yeah I was out for an hour and a half haha but my German ist SEHR GUT!!! and I'm loving the language. Again its leaking into my English. I miss you all!!! I've got some pictures, we're always finding ways to tease or mess around with each other, today we bowled with my 10 deodorant sticks and I tried to pop a bag in Elder Knight's ear but I missed and ended punching him in the face haha. We played soccer in the residence hall with a roll of tape.

I miss you all, this is the one for the blog, so Hi-ya bloggies! I miss you, but I've gotta get back to serving the Lord!

Until next week! Love Elder Fisher!!!

I'm having such a good time!!!

Saturday 3/5/16 9:30 AM
Hey! So the MTC is fantastic! I'm having such a blast and my District is wonderful! I'm in the laundry room right now so the email with a few pictures and a video of our beloved District leader and his companion singing a song they made up will come later in the day. Let me tell you that the spirit that dwells here is unreal! I constantly feel its promptings to do and say things I would never think about. The focus on the work has kept me happy and I haven't been homesick at all. German is coming so easily to the branch. I've already learned more in the 4 days I've been here then in 4 years of class. We taught our first investigator yesterday in all GERMAN!!! It was crazy! I spoke most of the lesson and we taught him how to pray!!! He is so sincere and I think of him constantly. All of my study is focused on helping him feel and learn God's love and how to return to Him. Our second lesson with him is Monday and we are teaching him the first lesson, God's love - The Apostasy - and Joseph Smith and the Restoration. my companion Elder Andrewsen is from Serbia, though he's really Alaskan. His father works at the Embassy so we hear all these crazy stories about Serbia. Ich bin begeistert jeden tag ganzen tag!!! Holy cow, I can't think of a better time in my life. The MTC is amazing and I cant say that enough. We have a quote wall, my favorites are "'Look Elder, sisters 'ugh!'" and "'This must be the real world...' 'ew, there's like sin out here'" (We got lost and wandered off campus....) the gospel is true, the Holy Ghost guides us every day, and I am so happy doing the work of the Lord.

Reminder, this is a quick email while I wait for my laundry, the fun stuff will come later in the day when I have real time. I just had to get on and see what you've all been up to.

Vieles Lieben,
Elder Fisher

Saturday 3/5/16 12:30

I'm having such a good time!!! Here are the photos from this week! Here are some of my favorite journal entries from this week.

-Oh! I met a Sister missionary returning home from the Arizona mission, we rode together on the flight to Salt Lake. I showed her the Grand Canyon, which is breathtaking from the air.
-Sleeping here is tough, I'm on the second bunk and fear rolling off each night. The mattress cover doesn't fit so it turns into a blanket halfway through the night.
-The spirit here is overwhelming and I feel so much gratitude.
-We consecrated some olive oil with Elder Roemer. It was his first time, using the priesthood in the MTC was a cool experience.
-I got a haircut today, my journal entry goes as quoted "I got a haircut today, perhaps I should have waited, the sisters watch me walk by now." (haha jeez, joking to myself in my journal. sad)
-and of course being locked out of our residence in our pajamas with no shoes, and then having to run all over campus looking for our rooming companions.

Have as much fun as I am here! I miss you guys and love you so much!!!

Ethan, stay strong, focus on the mission and get excited, it is amazing!!!
Lilly, be nice to Sam. and keep smiling, a few Sisters here remind me of you. Specifically Sister Earl, she works very hard and has a great smile.
Sarah, keep learning, follow every interest and use what you learn. Sister Alton reminds me of you, determined and clever.
Sam, live your life, pray often and love deeply. I hope you are enjoying my room. It's hecka hot all day so you need to steal the box fan back haha.

I love you all!

Vielen Lieben

 Elder Fisher!

Off he goes!

It's official, Elder Fisher has entered the Provo MTC to begin his mission.  There he met 11 other missionaries who will be going to the Frankfurt Germany Mission.  He was very excited.  We miss him already but are so happy that he has chosen to serve the Lord this way.  He already has a deep love of the German people and a true testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  His goal will be to combine the two by sharing his testimony with the people he will meet.  Please send him email at the address listed to the right of this post.  He is afraid that his sense of humor won't translate or be appreciated by the German people so send him your favorite joke, or funny story or something he did that made you smile.  Hopefully he will smile reading them and remember to laugh at himself.
Thank you so much for all the support and love shown to our family and our Elder.  Many of you reading this had a very real impact on him.  You were examples, friends, leaders and mentors.  Thank you!  Stay tuned for his first letter next week.
