Missionary Changes

Hey mom :) There were some huge changes this week with the schedule. Also my P-Day is now on Thursdays, so it will be 10 days until you here from me again. I think p-day on Thursday will be super nice because now we can go to all the museums and historical sites that are closed on Mondays. I cant remember if its like that in the states but everything is closed here on Mondays and it makes p-days kinda frustrating. So I'm staying another month in Hanau, which is great. I love it here and Elder Woolley is just fantastic. We are doing a lot of work here and seeing some huge miracles here. Hopefully we can see our three investigators to baptism and strengthen them to endure to the end.  This P-Day is super anstrengend(exhausting) and I don't have a lot of time... just enough to throw together this awful email and let y'all know that my p-day- is changing. I'm doing well, and the Three are progressing swimmingly.  I love you all very much and hope that this next week goes well for you.

All my Love, Elder Fisher.

We are the children of God

Hello mom :)
I'm trying to get my Driver License! :D and the snowy castle (or rather the first one) was
the Burg at Friedberg. Yeah so this week Elder Woolley and I did some exploring/Finding. I realized that neither of us have seen too much of our area and there might be more people in the other little cities we have around Hessen. So we hopped in the car and went to Gelnhausen.  And then we went a little ways more north and went finding around the Burg at Steinau, the place that the Grimm Brüder collected and compiled all of their Märchen.

It was a good time, we saw some cool things while on the Lords errand. This week went by so fast. As I'm approaching my 1 year mark I'm reflecting a lot about how my mission has been.

I came into the Mission, and met my Trainer Elder Robinette. (A mission legend really)
We drove to Köln, that beautiful City. We slept in the clouds and worked under the streets. The Germans weren't the only people I served. I worked in Africa, Syria and Iran. Ukraine and Russia came to visit and I saw two of my friends join me in Christ. Then the Lord called me to train. Feelings, confused, unprepared, scared, naïve, excited, happy, trusting. My "son" Elder Leimer and I labored in the City of Churches. We searched, taught and learned from each other. Then I was gone. The city changed to fields, the churches faded to castles and I slept on the bottom (we had bunk beds) there were no investigators, my trains all turned to cars and stoplights. 5 difficult lonely weeks, then Elder Woolley. Doors, doors, doors, Lilly. Working, then Referral, Abdol and Abbas. 6 weeks later, the three have dates to join me also in Christ. My spirit has grown like bamboo... all at once. I've seen hard times and easy. Sang and cursed, but as I gaze upon the achievements, the failures, the victories... I wouldn't, couldn't, trade it for the World. I came out to see what the Lord would make of me, and he has had a great time.

I'm astounded and Grateful for all that I've seen, the people I've met and all of the moments that have proved to me who I am. I truly know that I am a child of God. For
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." Romans 8. We all labor together in the fields of Life. And oh how sweet the joy of service with my savior. How proud I am to serve the Lord almighty. That even in all of my flaws and mistakes, the such in which I would drown without HIM, I am enough. Even with all that I am, he trusts me and Loves me. These are the things that he has taught me. And I know it. I know it with my entire being. My heart bursts as I type in stark confirmation of the words I say. And I want you to know that I know it :) this week we are headed back to Gelnhausen but for p-day, we'll see the Marienkirche and the Königs Garten then end in the Burg Ruine for a game of frisbee :) ill share the pictures when I have the chance :)

I love you all very much and hope and pray that everything is going well :)

Liebe Grüße Elder Fisher

Preparing for the waters of baptism

Hey mom :) so here's the lay down,

The Lord has blessed Elder Woolley and I with 3 fantastic, prepared Investigators. Who have now accepted the challenge to be baptized! So, we've got:

Lilly: 20 yr old who speaks English and German, she is evangelisch from birth but has some serious questions about life and wants to find a religion with a little more oomph. She has read and prayed and will continue preparing to be baptized on the 4th of February. The members love her.

Abdol and Abbas: in their thirties, these two Iranian men referred themselves online after meeting missionaries in Hamburg. They have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and are currently giving up smoking and alcohol to be clean and ready to enter the waters of baptism on the 11th of February.

We have been working with these 3 and have just been amazed with how prepared and happy they are to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All three impress me every time we meet and it is a delight to be here during their conversion processes.

As for my life, Hanau is a dream and Elder Woolley is just a doll haha He and I get along and have such a great time together. I couldn't have asked for a better companion. We are working on meeting with the members to show them how fun and easy missionary work is, and that the difference between the spiritual conversion and the social conversion is quite important.

So our focus is to show the members how easy it is for them to strengthen an investigators chances of accepting the gospel through friendships. Every investigator needs a friend. it is much easier to come to an activity or to church if you know someone is expecting you. And that people want you to be there. So we are doing roll plays and teaching the members the lessons, so they can invite their friends and be witnesses of the Gospel at all times, and on all places. This week we have a member appointment for every day of the week!!! Haha we are busy as can be and I Love it!!! Elder Woolley and I have been blessed to turn this area around and the success and blessings we are finding are just amazing <3 I love Hanau with all my heart.

I love you so much!

Germany is a beautiful place

Hey mom :)  I'll be super happy to run into the Carrolls when they visit.  haha I'll get to speak German with Erin. She was always so much better than I was but now I've gotten pretty quick ;) So, this week we were able to commit 3 people to baptism! and they all came to church. So our investigators are called Lilly Ramos, Abdol and Abbas. Lilly is Austrian/Panama and Abdol and Abbas are Persian. They referred themselves online after meeting missionaries in Hamburg and we knocked on Lilly's door.  They love the members, the members love them and its looking way too easy :) #Blessings. So on other notes, Germany is a beautiful place, but besonderes(special) to Germany is the state of Hessen, the heart of Germany, and here is where the Lord has called me to serve. The beautiful countrysides are dotted with Dorfs(villages) and the dialect involves a lot more sh than ch  haha which is just great. The members here say Grüß dich instead of Hallo and the word Servus has become vocab. I'm 20 minutes from Bavaria and love the atmosphere. We often visit the huge Evangelisch churches, a big contrast in my mission, having been trained in one of the biggest Catholic hubs outside of Rome. I'm just loving everything about it. The people, The work, The free time, The food. The Lord certainly answered my prayers with Germany. When I get down I just have to remind myself that I did in fact pray for this haha.

Today we were invited to take a "nature walk" with the other missionaries in Friedberg, so thats where the photos will come from haha  I'm excited for that. There's a lot of snow around and that makes everything beautiful but a heck of a lot colder haha Wishing I was back in the desert.

Liebe Grüße. Elder Fisher
