Yeah, so there's no overlap for President Boyer. The transfer
call is on the 8th, transfers are the Tuesday after. I would really like
to see a new area. Duisburg is so small I've seen it all. I think I
will move, there is a rumor that the Zoneleaders are moving up here to
Duisburg... they rotate between Düsseldorf and Duisburg, idk why. But
I'm loving the Bike! It's way fun haha the only problem is one of them
has a broken seat so you have to stand as you ride. And we only ride for
an hour at a time. Doesn't matter where we are, we are an hour from
where we need to be.

Familie!!! Ja so this week was great! We met with two new investigators,
Favour and Lutz. Favour is a regular class homie from Nigeria. He's
super open to religion and was excited to get a Book of Mormon so he
could read it. And Lutz is a Chinese student who doesn't really have a
concept of God. He received his Book of Mormon in Chinese yesterday and is happy to
start reading.
We
also spent a lot of time with Die Familie David this last week. So,
there's Gerhard and Gabi, the parents and then Samuel and Viola the son
and wife. We went to Familieheimabend with Gerhard and Gabi and taught
the first lesson to an Ewigator (Avigator) or eternal investigator. Haha
he has a testimony he just doesn't think he can live the Gospel. But
yeah, of course you can! God set it up just for us! But it was a really
spiritual moment. He definitely felt the spirit and we will continue
working with him to try to help him see the Light.
Then
Wednesday we went over to Samuel and Violas. It was really fun, Sam is
studying to become a dentist so he told us all about his biology class.
He has a halved head that he is dissecting. Gross stuff haha. Then we
shared the Video "reach out with Love". I highly recommend watching that
on YouTube by the way. We asked what they saw change in the young man
and how they themselves could reach out with love.
Being
a missionary here in Germany is actually really different than I
thought to would be. For those of you who thought I wouldn't baptize,
neener neener ;) for those of you who thought I'd be teaching a lot of
Germans, you're half right. There are so many people from all over the
world here. I've met people from 86 different countries while on my
mission. Yes I've been counting haha. I know a little Arabic and some
Persian, I can Snap (an African handshake) and I've grown a taste for
Turkish food. It's been an unvergleichbare Erlebnis. (Incomparable experience)
I've
grown an appreciation and a love for Europe that I never thought I
would have. And that Love... the Love is the part that gets me every
time. I never knew I could love so much. And seemingly for no reason
haha I'm drawn to these people, to help, to teach.
Jetzt
dass ich deutsch kann, ist es wirklich angenehmer auf deutsch zu beten
und denken. Nächste Versetzung werde ich hoffentlich nur auf Deutsch
sprechen.
(Now that I can speak German, it is really more pleasant to pray and think in German. Next translation I will hopefully only speak in German.)
I've grown in unbelievable ways and for that I am so grateful!
Oh,
and the blackberries are starting to grow, this time of year, Germany
is covered with wild blackberries and they are such a treat! So I'm
waiting for that with anticipation!
